Philanthropy
Delta Tau Delta and the members of Gamma Chi pride themselves on their commitment to philanthropy and community service. Our many community service endeavors include our weekly Adopt-A-School program where we send two members to tutor middle school children and our Adopt-A-Highway program where we clean our two mile stretch 3 times a year. All members are required 15 hours of community service or philanthropy work and the majority get those requirements out of the way within the first few months of the year and continue to participate throughout the school year.
Kansas State University's Greek system is one of the most respected on campus and one of the reasons is the enthusiasm its members put into their philanthropies. We as Delts have two major philanthropies: Toy's for Tots with the Kappa Deltas in the fall (we were recently honored by being asked to take on all administrative duties in the planning and execution of the Manhattan area program) and 3-on-3 basketball with the Alpha Chi Omegas in the spring where we usually raise over $1000 dollars to Big brothers Big sisters of Manhattan and the Women’s Crisis Center of Manhattan.
Delt also enjoys participating in other fraternity and sorority philanthropies such as Sigma Kappa's Mudball where we took 2nd place. We also have 2 teams currently involved in the Greek system's philanthropy Up 'Til Dawn, which benefits St. Jude's Research hospital for underprivileged children with cancer. We love to participate in the various events throughout the year which not only help the community but also help bring us closer to one another and the rest of the Greek system here at K-State.
