Noontime Yoga schedule changes

Submitted by Kathryn Harth

Noontime Yoga will not take place during spring break week, March 11-15. When we return the following week, there will be a few location changes.

  • Monday, March 18 — Meet in the McCain Auditorium lobby instead of the International Student Center.
  • Tuesday, March 19 — Meet in McCain Auditorium's loft space on the north end of the second floor.
  • Wednesday, March 20 — back to the regular schedule.

View the full schedule.

Noontime Yoga is free to attend and for all levels and abilities. This volunteer-based program provides an outlet for students, staff, faculty and community members to practice yoga together in a friendly, non-competitive environment.

Noontime Yoga is offered on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12:05-12:50 p.m. Monday and Wednesday we're at the International Student Center. Tuesday we're in the lobby of McCain Auditorium.

What to expect during noontime yoga:

  • Class begins at 12:05 p.m. and ends at 12:50 p.m. so that those spending their lunch hour with us have time to travel across campus.
  • It's okay if you arrive late or have to leave early. Just come as you are and enter/leave quietly.
  • We ask that you sign in each day and acknowledge that you've read the waiver. Preview it here.
  • All are welcome. Whether you are a veteran yogi or a beginner, Noontime Yoga is a safe space where you can just be you and grow in your practice.
  • Please bring your own yoga mat.

More details about our locations:

  • International Student Center — Look for a sign in front to help you know which building to enter. The multipurpose room is just off the lobby, and we'll have a sign on the door.
  • McCain Auditorium lobby – You can't miss the lobby with all of its glass walls. Enter the lobby from either side — the north door if you're coming from the Goldstein Circle or the south door across from Nichols Hall.

Yoga not only improves strength, balance and flexibility, it can help manage stress, increase energy and lead to better sleep. The Noontime Yoga community has been going strong for 20 years and gives K-Staters a midday break from the stresses of class and work. The group's yoga leaders are volunteers from K-State and the community.

Noontime Yoga started in 2002 as a part of K-State's Campaign for Nonviolence. Many thanks to the International Student Center and McCain Auditorium for hosting the program this semester and to the leaders who donate their time and talents to continue this unique opportunity for the K-State family.
