Weekly global religious, spiritual and nonreligious observance information

The President's Committee on Religion, Spirituality and Nonreligious Diversity presents the global observance information for Jan. 22-28. 

Sadeh — Wednesday, Jan. 24. Tradition: Zoroastrianism. Festival of thanksgiving, celebrated with the lighting of fires. Also celebrated by some non-Zoroastrian Iranians as a cultural festival.

Tu B'Shevat — Wednesday, Jan. 24. Tradition: Judaism. The "New Year for Trees." Beginning of the agricultural cycle for the calculation of agricultural tithes. In Israel kept as an analogue of Arbor Day. 

The President's Committee on Religious, Spiritual and Nonreligious Diversity welcomes those of all global religious, spiritual and nonreligious commitments.
