Three representatives from K-State recently traveled to Fort Sill in Oklahoma at the invitation of Winston P. Brooks, commanding general, to strengthen ties between the military installation and the university.

K-State representatives included Art DeGroat, executive director of the Office of Military and Veterans Affairs; Dustin Meritt, College of Education professor of practice and chair of the Military Initiatives Committee; and Makenna Duncan, coordinator for special populations recruitment in the Office of Recruitment and Admissions.

"I am excited that K-State's reputation in offering relevant education opportunities for transitioning soldiers and spouses is expanding beyond Kansas military installations," DeGroat said. "Fort Sill, like Fort Riley and Fort Leavenworth, offers us a great new military community to serve in the Midwest."
