Emergency fire equipment to be tested in various buildings in April

Submitted by Steve Galitzer

Between April 1-15 SimplexGrinnell will test the emergency fire equipment in:

  • Campus Creek Complex;
  • K-State Center for Child Development;
  • Hoeflin Stone House Early Childhood Education Center;
  • Ahearn Fieldhouse and Natatorium;
  • Bramlage Coliseum;
  • McCain Auditorium; and
  • Thompson Hall.

To reduce the number of building occupants interrupted by the sound of alarms, the fire alarm systems will be tested every evening between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The quarterly sprinkler system testing for all campus buildings will be conducted between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily during April. Testing of the sprinkler systems will not disrupt the building occupants.

Police dispatch, facilities and the Manhattan Fire Department will be notified for each building at the start of the test. Please refer your comments and questions to safety@k-state.edu or call 785-532-5856.
