Kansas State University Pre-Dental Club CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE 1: NAME AND PURPOSE
Section 1: This organization will be known as the Kansas State University Pre-Dental Club.
Section 2:The purpose of this organization shall be to allow potential dental students to learn more about the field of dentistry as well as make them better applicants for dental school.
ARTICLE 2: MEMBERSHIP
Section 1: Membership shall be open to all Kansas State University students and faculty.
Section 2: Membership will be gained upon paying yearly dues.
ARTICLE 3: OFFICERS
Section 1: The officers in this organization shall be:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
Social Chair/Advertising
Section 2: Officers will be selected by majority vote at the end of each spring semester and serve for a one-year term.
Section 3: Duties of the officers:
President: Presides over meetings, handles correspondence
Vice President: In charge of community service projects and programs
Secretary: Takes notes and keeps minutes
Treasurer: Handles financial accounts
ARTICLE 4: DUES
Section 1: Members will be expected to pay $10.00 upon joining the club. This fee will cover membership dues through the remainder of the school year.
ARTICLE 5: MEETINGS
Section 1: Meetings will be held each month. Exact times and dates will varey based upon availability of the speakers, members’ schedules, and planned activities.
Section 2: The President will be responsible for scheduling meetings.
Section 3: Quorum will be based on the average number of members who usually attend meetings. Secretary will be responsible for keeping minutes.
ARTICLE 6: COMMITTEES
Section 1: The Vice President will chair the community service committee. This committee will be responsible for completing at least one community service project per year.
Section 2: When needed, the executive staff will authorize the formation of a new committee and select a committee chair.
ARTICLE 7: AMMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION
Section 1: To amend this constitution, a two-thirds majority vote is needed.
