A new stadium was constructed in 1968 to replace the inadequate facilities of old Memorial Stadium. The $1,600,000 cost was financed by student fees, athletic gate receipts and contributions. In 1991 the field was renamed Wagner Field in honor of J. David Wagner of Dodge City, Kansas who contributed the funds for new turf. In 2006, the stadium was renovated to add new seating and a new screen at the north end. At the south end a wide screen video board 25 feet by 61 feet was installed.
