Graduate Faculty

Participate in Graduate School Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 11

Graduate faculty are encouraged to attend the Graduate School Spring Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 11 in Bramlage Coliseum. Hooding and non-hooding faculty who are interested in participating are encouraged to register their attendance no later than May 4. Academic regalia must be worn and may be reserved through the K-State Campus Store.

Run, jog, walk, and stroll in the first Grad Dash 5k on Saturday, April 28

Celebrate the final weeks of the spring semester by participating in the first GSC hosted Grad Dash 5k. Join graduate students, faculty, staff and families for 3.1 miles. Meet staff and students while you’ll tour the campus with a fresh new t-shirt to help you finish the semester on the right track.  Race day is Saturday, April 28. Registration fee is $20.  

Call for nominations: 2018-19 Commerce Bank and WT Kemper Foundation Distinguished Graduate Faculty Award 

The Commerce Bank and WT Kemper Foundation Distinguished Graduate Faculty Award honors current members of the graduate faculty who are recognized nationally and internationally for their outstanding scholarly achievements and for their contributions to graduate education at the university. Recipients of the award will receive an honorarium, are recognized during the fall Graduate School commencement ceremony and during a public lecture to the campus community. Submission deadline is May 1.

Call for nominations: Distinguished Thesis and Distinguished Dissertation Awards

The Graduate School is now accepting nominations for the MAGS/ProQuest Distinguished Thesis Award and the CGS/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award. This year’s award categories are 1) Engineering, Mathematics, and Physical Sciences and 2) Social Sciences. Each graduate program may submit one nomination for the thesis award and one nomination for the dissertation award. Please visit the award webpages for more information. Nominations must be submitted to the Graduate School, 119 Eisenhower Hall, or via email to Megan Miller (mmmiller@ksu.edu) no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 1, 2018.

April is Graduate Student Appreciation Month

Happy Graduate Student Appreciation Month! Check out what the departments, colleges, Graduate School and Graduate Student Council are doing for graduate students.

GSC Awards and Recognition Reception

The annual GSC Awards and Recognition Reception will be held Monday, April 23, in the Alumni Center Ballroom. The event will begin at 5:30pm with a social period to include hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. The formal program will begin at 6:00pm. Invitations have been sent directly to students who will be recognized. Students should check their junk folder for an invitation. Students and faculty are welcome to attend the reception even if not being recognized and are asked to register their attendance by April 11. Register your attendance here.

GSC Travel Awards Deadline

May 1 is the deadline to apply for GSC travel awards for events that begin in July.
