Caring skills

A note to parents
2. Would you care?
Go to Caring lesson 1You are at Caring lesson 2Go to Caring lesson 3

Key ideas
1. Have compassion for the suffering of others.

In this activity, we begin to ask children to reflect on and assess their caring. Create several opportunities for courage (or use the list below) and ask children, "Would you care...?"

Would you care
... if you saw someone killing a dog?
... if you saw someone put a drug in a teacher's coffee cup?
... if you saw someone stealing from the locker of a child you did not know?
... if you heard someone make cruel and unfair statements about a child you did not know?
... if you saw someone aggressively push a smaller child down on the playground?
