6. The experience of caring

Imagine that something very sad has happened to you. A friend stops by your house to visit. You tell him (or her) your story, and express your feelings of loss and grief. You talk with your head down, struggling to find the words for your feelings. Then you pause and look up to see your friend’s eyes. They are filled with tears. Your friend is absorbed in what you are telling him and how you feel. At that very moment, how would you feel? How would you react?

7. Caring and ethics

What is the relationship between caring and ethics? Can someone be ethical but uncaring? Alternatively, can someone be caring but unethical?
