#1 Change your thinking about the misbehavior
Basic, ages 2-18
Allow children to do what comes naturally. Accept behavior that is expected for their age, ability and temperament. Allow children to be imperfect, to make mistakes, and to experience setbacks. Do not accept behavior that harms others or is deliberate disobedience. This tool might be called “going for a ride.”

Examples:
Parents no longer become angry when their toddler fidgets during church service.
Parents no longer become frustrated with their teenage son's moodiness. They decide this temperamental behavior is part of his adjustment to dramatic changes in his life.
