Limits
Specific expectations
Limits are specific expectations we set for our children. They are guidelines or rules, such as staying in the backyard when playing outside, staying out of a sister's bedroom, keeping the car tools in the garage, and borrowing clothes only with permission.

Effective limits are an essential part of Prevention, Guidance, and Consequences.

Examine the Brown poster, “Effective Limits.” Each of the key features will be discussed in more depth here. You can tape this poster where you can see it as a reminder.
