Tool #8. Give progress reports

Difficulty: Advanced Type: Prevention Ages: 5-18
Definition:
When children take positive steps toward a long-term goal, take them aside and talk about their progress toward achieving the goal. Most of us would appreciate such recognition.

Example:
bulletWilliam, (16 years), I am proud of you. Though you have a part-time job, you still find time to do your homework. With all the distractions in your life, I know this is not easy. I admire your determination. You are showing a lot of maturity.
