Tool #49. Ground the child

Difficulty: Advanced Type: Consequences Ages: 2-18
Definition:
If children understand that they have misbehaved, restrict them to home or yard for a reasonable length of time.

Example:
bulletJoe (11 years) knows he is supposed to ride his bike across heavy traffic only at the traffic light. After his parents see him pedaling across heavy traffic in the middle of the block, they decide to take his bike away for one full week.
