There are one billion reasons why Kansas State University is growing stronger by the day, but it all comes down to three words: the K-State family.
The K-State community is uniting like never before for Innovation and Inspiration: The Campaign for Kansas State University, the most ambitious fundraising campaign in university history. This campaign will raise $1 billion to drive K-State forward in becoming a Top 50 public research university by 2025.
"The Innovation and Inspiration campaign is fundamental to the university's research, creative, academic, infrastructure, outreach, extension and engagement efforts in support of the 2025 strategic plan," said K-State President Kirk Schulz. "Together we can ensure that K-State's long tradition as a public research university is preserved and enhanced to a Top 50 level nationally."
Although the campaign was formally announced in October 2015, the university has already raised more than $800 million — more than 80 percent of the $1 billion goal. Innovation and Inspiration is rooted in K-State's land-grant history with an eye toward the future, and is aligned with the seven key themes of K-State 2025:
- Research, scholarly and creative activities, and discovery
- Undergraduate educational experience
- Graduate scholarly experience
- Engagement, extension, outreach and service
- Faculty and staff
- Facilities and infrastructure
The most important aspect of the Innovation and Inspiration campaign is that everyone benefits. Through giving, the K-State family is supporting student success, faculty development, facilities, programmatic success and excellence funds across the university's three physical campuses, K-State Global campus, K-State Alumni Association and K-State Athletics.
