Graduate Student Travel Award
The purpose of this award is to support K-State’s Division of Student Life Graduate Assistants in obtaining professional development by providing limited funding. To be eligible for funding, the applicant must be a full-time student enrolled at the University pursuing a graduate degree, in good academic standing, and hold an assistantship within the Division of Student Life. Additionally, the graduate student’s department/unit will be asked to contribute to funding incurred expenses. GA’s may apply for funding once per academic year with priority given to first-time applicants. Payment for up to $500 maximum per academic year may be awarded depending on the number of requests received. Procedure for Applying
Submit an application letter addressed to the Professional Development Fund Committee that includes:
Title, location, and date of the conference/professional development opportunity.
Explanation of the impact participating in this event will have on the applicant's professional development.
Explanation of the benefits of the conference/training to the department/unit.
A commitment to share lessons learned with campus colleagues within 6 months after attendance.
Submit an updated resume
Complete the Division of Student Life Graduate Assistant Professional Development Application for Funding Form that includes estimated costs. Attach supporting documentation for all expenses.
E-mail all application materials in a single PDF to: Professional Development Fund Committee, Dana Nordyke, email@example.com by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 22.
