President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is College of Business Administration's Distinguished Lecture Series speaker

Esther George, president and chief executive office of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and a member of the Federal Open Market Committee, will be the fall 2012 speaker for the Kansas State University College of Business Administration's Distinguished Lecture Series.
George's lecture will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, in Forum Hall at the K-State Student Union.
George has been with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City since 1982 and was appointed official staff in 1995. She's had several appointments within the bank, including being its first vice president and chief operating officer since August 2009, and serving as executive vice president in charge of the bank's Division of Supervision and Risk Management, which she led as a senior vice president since 2001. In that position, she was responsible for the supervision and regulation of the district's 170 state-chartered member banks and nearly 1,000 bank and financial holding companies, as well as the bank's discount window and risk management functions.
George is a native of Faucett, Mo., and has a bachelor's degree from Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

The Kansas State University College of Business Administration Distinguished Lecture Series brings successful business professionals to campus. Lectures are given every semester and are sponsored by Commerce Bank and The William T. Kemper Foundation.
