Cats' Cupboard winter hours and available community resources

Cats' Cupboard: The K-State Food Pantry will be open Dec. 17-21 and Jan. 2-20 during winter break. Please note that Cats' Cupboard will be closed Dec. 22-Jan. 1 for the university holidays.

The hours during winter break will be 1-6 p.m. Monday, 1-5 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon Friday, and by appointment. To schedule a weekday morning pantry visit, please email Erin Bishop at erbish@k-state.edu. Cats' Cupboard will not have Saturday or Sunday hours during winter break. Students are encouraged to use the Common Table community meals and the Community Christmas dinner.

All are invited and welcome to the free community Christmas dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, at Peace Lutheran Church, 2500 Kimball Ave. Contact office@peace-to-you.org or call 785-539-7371 for more information. Volunteer opportunities are available in advance and on the day of the meal. Contact Kathleen Jones at kathleenhj@cox.net if you would like to help.

Common Table is a breakfast and supper meal program in Manhattan that provides meals seven days a week throughout the community. It is free and open to everyone. The following is a complete list of Common Table locations:

  • Sunday 6-7 p.m.: First Congregational Church, 700 Poyntz Ave. Sack lunch also available.
  • Monday 6-7 p.m.: Riley County Seniors' Service Center, 301 N. Fourth St. 
  • Tuesday 7-8:30 a.m.: St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 601 Poyntz Ave. Sack lunch also available.
  • Tuesday 6-7 p.m.: First Presbyterian Church, 801 Leavenworth St.
  • Wednesday 7:30-8:15 a.m.: First Presbyterian Church, 801 Leavenworth St.
  • Wednesday 6-7 p.m.: First United Methodist Church, 612 Poyntz Ave. Sack lunch also available.
  • Thursday 6-7 p.m.: First Lutheran Church, 930 Poyntz Ave.
  • Friday 7-9 a.m.: St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 601 Poyntz Ave.
  • Friday 6-7 p.m.: First Lutheran Church, 930 Poyntz Ave.
  • Saturday 6-7 p.m.: First United Methodist Church, 612 Poyntz Ave.
