Submitted by Blakely Bunning

David C. Pickering, associate professor of music and chair of the keyboard division at Kansas State University, has written a biography on famed organist and organ pedagogue Arthur Poister, 1898-1980, titled "Arthur Poister: Master Teacher and Poet of the Organ."

This comprehensive biography encompassing more than 500 pages of Poister's life, performing and teaching careers, was recently released by Wayne Leupold Editions, Colfax, North Carolina. Poister is viewed by many as one of the most significant American organists of the 20th century.
