Los Angeles-based performance artist and storyteller Dan Kwong to lead student workshop

Submitted by Jui Mhatre

The Beach Museum of Art is collaborating with K-State Theatre to bring Los Angeles-based performance artist and storyteller Dan Kwong to campus as part of its Silk Road through Kansas program.

Kwong will offer a two-night workshop from 7-10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, and Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the Purple Masque Theatre. This participatory workshop is open to all K-State students, but is limited to 16. Kwong is particularly looking for a diverse mix of students across curricular areas and nationalities/identities to participate in the workshop. No previous experience in storytelling or performance is necessary to participate.

During the workshop, students will learn how to develop personal stories using physical, vocal, conceptual and emotional exercises designed to evoke stories and memories.

If you are interested and available, please email Jennifer Vellenga, theatre program associate director, at vellenga@k-state.edu with the subject line, "DAN KWONG."
