Activist Luc Bensimon to join campus Transgender Day of Remembrance rally
K-Staters are invited to join the Gender Collective, Sexuality and Gender Alliance, LGBT Resource Center and Union Program Council for a campus observance of Transgender Day of Remembrance. On this day, we memorialize those whose lives have been lost to transphobic violence and bring awareness to the continued violence endured by the transgender community.
A Transgender Day of Remembrance rally will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the K-State Student Union courtyard to discuss the meaning of this day and say the names of those who have been lost this year. Luc Bensimon, an activist from Topeka, will be a guest speaker at the rally.
The campus community also is encouraged to visit the exhibit about Transgender Day of Remembrance on display through Friday, Nov. 16, in the William T. Kemper Art Gallery in the Union.
