New K-State students invited to Wildcat Welcome Day

Submitted by Linda Cook

The K-State Alumni Association is sponsoring Wildcat Welcome Day for all new Kansas State University students from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23. The event will be on the K-State Alumni Center's Johnson Terrace.

All incoming freshmen and transfer students are invited to stop by for free Call Hall ice cream floats and cookies. Students also will be able to register to win a $250 textbook scholarship and other prizes. K-State improv group On the Spot will be on hand to entertain the crowd.

"This event is always a lot of fun for new students," said Megan Sherlock, associate director of student programs for the Association. "It's a nice welcome to K-State, and students also can get more information on how to get involved on campus."

At the event, students will be able to find out more about Student Alumni Board and Homecoming week. They also can sign up for Wildcats Forever, the student alumni association. Information will be available about the K-State ring, the Alumni Association and much more.

For more information, contact Sherlock at 785-532-6260 or 800-600-ALUM (2586). You also may visit the Association's website at www.K-State.com/wwd12.
