James Chen, Kansas State University Steve Hsu Keystone Research Faculty Scholar and assistant professor of mechanical and nuclear engineering, has been named a fellow in the 2018 Air Force Research Lab Summer Faculty Fellowship Program.

He will spend eight weeks this summer at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base Research Lab in Dayton, Ohio, where his work will focus on nonequilibrium phenomena of hypersonic flows.

The U.S. Air Force Research Lab Summer Faculty Fellowship Program offers hands-on exposure to Air Force research challenges through eight- to 12-week research residencies at participating Air Force research facilities. The fellowships are awarded to full-time science, mathematics and engineering faculty at U.S. colleges and universities.
