Kick off the new semester with a social and reconnect with colleagues or meet new ones and learn more about science communication efforts through the Kansas Science Communication Initiative. All are invited to gather at Arrow Coffee Co. at 1800 Claflin Road on Jan. 25 from 5-6:30 p.m. Light snacks will be provided.

The initiative will have its first meeting of the semester the following week. We'll gather at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 31 in 121 Eisenhower Hall. All are welcome! The steering committee will share information about priorities for 2018, and we will establish working groups to pursue those priorities and others identified by the group.

Working groups are tentatively slated as follows:

  • Internal outreach and professional development/training;
  • Events;
  • Formal science communication education and grant exploration; and
  • Student activities and outreach.

All who are interested in science communication — faculty, undergraduate or graduate students, communications staff, and postdocs — are welcome to attend.
