This year's Why I Give Week is Nov. 6-10 at the K-State Student Union.

Why I Give Week is a celebration of philanthropy, and provides students with an opportunity to reflect on its importance and to show appreciation to those who have already given so much to our community here at K-State. There will be a booth set up at the from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Bosco Student Plaza and each day, we will be focus on a theme that allows us to recognize various aspects of philanthropy. The five themes are Treasure, Thanks, Talent, Time and Testimony.

The following events are part of Why I Give Week:

• On Tuesday, Nov. 7, students will have the opportunity to thank donors for all they have done and will continue to do. There also will be a donor panel from 5:15-6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 in Town Hall at the Leadership Studies Building. We invite students to sit in on a discussion with individuals who have directly impacted K-State through donations of both time and money. This year's panelists include Larry Moeder, Mary Ice and Barry Flinchbaugh.

• Wednesday, Nov. 8, is dedicated to the faculty and staff who serve the student body on a daily basis, and students will have the opportunity to thank those individuals personally with thank-you cards.

• On Thursday, Nov. 9, we will take the time to create care packages for soldiers returning to Fort Riley.

• Friday, Nov. 10, we will share testimonies of students across campus showcasing why philanthropy is important to them.

Each day of the week will offer exciting chances to give back and get involved. We encourage everyone to come and engage in this week, while also spreading these messages across campus through our Snapchat social media campaign. Each day, and its theme, will be accompanied by a Snapchat filter that will allow students to spread Why I Give Week to as many people as possible, ultimately showing the dedication K-State has to philanthropic service.

K-State's Student Foundation invites all Wildcats to come learn about the importance of philanthropy.
