Kinesiology graduate student opens fitness research to crowdfunding

Submitted by Brittany Hollerbach

Brittany Hollerbach, graduate student in kinesiology, is examining muscular strength, power and endurance differences between two college fitness classes: CrossFit and traditional weight training.

Though CrossFit has exploded in popularity over the past 17 years, little research has examined improvements in fitness due to CrossFit training.

Hollerbach is using the crowdfunding website Experiment.com to help fund weight training participant incentive gift cards, jump ropes and conference travel.

This research has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and received approval number is No. 8885.
