K-State bands to perform two concerts Sunday, April 30

The K-State Bands will present two concerts on Sunday, April 30, at All Faiths Chapel. Admission is free for both performances.

The K-State Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 30. Frank Tracz is the director of the Wind Ensemble and Don Linn is the director of the Wind Symphony. Guest artists include Ron Hufstader, guest conductor, and Nancy Taylor, guest trumpet soloist. The concert also will feature Amanda Arrington on piano performing "Rhapsody in Blue." The ensemble will perform works by Perrine, Gershwin, Grainger, Masklanka, Tchaikovsky and others. 

The K-State Concert Band and University Bands will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 30. The Concert Band is directed by Dan Haddad, Alex Wimmer, Jay Koupal and Wes Lewis and is supervised and directed by Tracz. Michael Meier will be a guest soloist on saxophone. The bands are directed by junior and senior music education majors under the mentorship of Tracz, Linn, and the K-State Band graduate staff.
