Psychology faculty, students present

Psychology faculty and students have been active recently with a variety of presentations.

Laura Brannon, associate professor; Stephen Nettelhorst, Chelsea Schnalberauch, both doctoral students; and Amy Webb and Lauren Eberting, both undergraduate students, presented a poster at the Southwestern Psychological Association Convention in Oklahoma City.

The poster was titled “The effect of advertisement choice, sex and need for cognition on attention.”

Whitney Jeter, doctoral student, and Lora Peaden, master’s student, presented a poster at the Southwestern Psychological Association Convention. Their poster was titled “Men Debate, Women Manipulate: Early Environment and Mate Retention Tactics Impact Psychological Victimization.”

Trey Hill, doctoral student, presented the poster “Hand drumming as a cue for fitness-relevant traits.”

Gary Brase, associate professor, made a presentation as part of the University of Kansas’ C-CHANGE – Climate Change, Humans, and Nature in the Global Environment – in Lawrence. His presentation was titled “Communicating about Climate Change – How to use Numbers that Inform and Persuade.”
