Center for Sustainable Energy announces symposium

The Center for Sustainable Energy will host a symposium May 1-2 in Fiedler Hall Auditorium. Representatives from public agencies and private companies will discuss approaches to sustainable food and/or alternate energy production and resource utilization.

Tim Venverloh, director of sustainability for Archer Daniels Midland, and Den Bena, senior director sustainable development, Pepsico, will address "Current Evaluation of Sustainability by Businesses" at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, in Fiedler Auditorium.

Over the two-day event, resource use, and national and global sustainability will be the focus of other experts from Oak Ridge National Laboratory, John Deere, Chromatin, BNSF Railway and DuPont.

The symposium, sponsored by ConocoPhillips, is free and open the public.
