Third annual College of Arts and Sciences teach-in

Join the College of Arts and Sciences for a community teach-in celebrating K-State's 2017 Martin Luther King Jr. Observance Week. The teach-in will run from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 25 in the K-State Student Union courtyard.

Featuring three simultaneous components geared toward various learning styles, students, staff, faculty and members of the community can listen to formal speakers, participate in round table discussions and view student poster presentations regarding various aspects of diversity.

Covering a range of current topics from microaggressions to indigenous resistance, each formal presenter will speak for 20 minutes, followed by 20 minutes of audience discussion.

Noon — Don Saucier: "The Justification and Suppression of Prejudice"

12:45 p.m. — LaVerne Bitsie-Baldwin, Sonya Ortiz, Alex Red Corn and Lisa Tatonetti: "Indigenous Knowledges: Sites of Resurgence & Resistance"

1:30 p.m. — Mary Kohn: "What Are You Listening For?: Silencing and Amplifying Diverse Voices"

2:15 p.m. — Doris Wright Carroll: "Managing Microaggressions in the Classroom"
