Career Center opens drop-in advising and Career Closet weekly for the semester, offers free professional portraits twice a month

Submitted by Ana Landsverk

Students are welcome to stop by the Career Center every Monday-Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. for Daytime Drop-in advising sessions and to browse the Career Closet. The Career Center also offers free professional portraits twice a month, beginning Jan. 20.

Drop-in advising sessions are encouraged for students needing:

  • A brief 15-minute resume, CV or cover letter critique.
  • To ask a quick, career-related question.
  • Help with a specific job application.

Students should come prepared with a printed copy of the document they wish to review or with a main goal in mind for the brief session.

While waiting for an advising session, students can browse our closet of gently used professional attire. The Career Closet has men's and women's inventory to include suits, ties, shirts, skirts and shoes. Students may take up to five items for free.

Students can visit the Explore Floor from 10 a.m. to noon on the first and third Friday of every month for a free professional portrait to use on their LinkedIn profile. No appointment is necessary.
