Center for Advocacy, Response, and Education hires new coordinator

Submitted by Bradley Halverson

The Center for Advocacy, Response and Education, or CARE, has hired Caitlin Carrington, a new coordinator who started her position this week.

In her role at CARE, Carrington will be available to meet with K-State students, faculty and staff members who have experienced sexual violence, dating or domestic violence, stalking, or sexual harassment. Advocates collaborate across identities and shed light on the realities of psychological, emotional, financial, physical and sexual forms of violence.

Carrington and her husband, Scott, moved to Manhattan from Fairfax, Virginia. She obtained her bachelor's degree in psychology from George Mason University in May 2016. She also is a second lieutenant in the Army Reserves. During her time as an undergraduate, Carrington worked as a peer advocate responding to the needs of sexual assault victims as a student volunteer. She is very dedicated to combating and eradicating sexual and dating violence from our society. In her free time, Carrington enjoys lifting weights, hiking and baking.
