Food for Thought hosts farm-to-fork meat production panel today

Submitted by Lindy Bilberry

The 2016 Upson Lecture Series, sponsored by Food for Thought, an official student organization, will present a farm-to-fork panel on beef production at 6 p.m. Monday, April 25, in the K-State Student Union's Forum Hall.

The panel will be moderated by Eric Atkinson, producer of "Agriculture Today" on the K-State Radio Network.

Panel members include:

  • Ann Brackenridge and Todd Allen, both of Cargill. Brackenridge is director of value added protein beef research and development, and Allen is the president of Cargill Cattle Feeders.
  • Mark Harms owns and operates Harms Plainview Ranch a Red Angus and Charolais seedstock provider near Lincolnville.
  • Chef Alli is a speaker, kitchen crusader and fancy farm wife.

Come for an exciting discussion about how meat gets on our plates. The event is free and open to the public. The Upson Lecture Series is fully endowed by the support of the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine classes of 1962 and 1966.
