Student organizations needed for food safety workshops

Submitted by Jennifer Hanson

The food, nutrition, dietetics and health department is sponsoring food safety workshops for on-campus student organizations. In addition, the department will be conducting a research survey to learn more about students' food handling behaviors and beliefs. The workshops will be from 6-7 p.m. or 7:15-8:15 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, March 30-April 28, in 115 Justin Hall.

Student organizations with at least 10 members who attend the workshop and complete the surveys will receive a group cookout package worth $100. The package will contain a quality food thermometer, other outdoor cookware and a $50 grocery certificate. Student organizations with 15 or more participants will receive a $75 grocery certificate and organizations with 20 or more participants will receive a $100 grocery certificate.

Groups must sign up in advance. Contact Tiffany Standerwick at tstander@k-state.edu for more information or to schedule your organization's workshop.
