Voter registration drive on Manhattan campus March 21-24

Submitted by Kaitlyn Alanis

Kansas State University's Student Governing Association, SGA, is partnering with the League of Women Voters to bring a national voter registration drive to various campus locations March 21-24.

SGA students will be at the following locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day for students to register:

  • K-State Student Union
  • Hale Library
  • Leadership Studies Building

Those who have never voted in Kansas must provide proof of U.S. citizenship to complete their registration. Volunteers will explain how to submit proof of citizenship documents.

Those who have previously registered to vote and wish to update their record may do so at the registration tables. Students who wish to register to vote in their Kansas home county may use the provided forms to do so.

The K-State voter registration drive is part of an effort led by the League of Women Voters and the SGA's Governmental Relations Committee to engage more citizens ages 18 to 34 to vote in the upcoming elections.

The next election in Riley County will be the presidential primary on Aug. 2. Registration closes 21 days prior to each election.
