GSC professional development

The Graduate Student Council invites all graduate students to its first professional development workshop of the spring semester. Accepting the Job Offer: $tart $mart Salary Negotiation Workshop will be from 3-5 p.m. today in 1109 Durland Hall, the new lecture hall in the engineering complex. The room is on the first floor across from Fiedler Auditorium.

This workshop will prepare graduate students to negotiate their starting salary when offered the first postgraduate school position, improve lifelong earning potential, articulate value, build confidence in negotiation style and sharpen budgeting skills.

The workshop will be led by Camila Haselwood, Powercat Financial Counseling peer counselor II and master's student in personal financial planning; and Derek Lawson, certified financial planner and doctoral student in personal financial counseling.

Come and learn how to successfully negotiate salary and benefits to get the best deal for yourself.

This workshop will count as one point and can be used toward the Graduate Student Council professional development certificate. Free snacks will be offered prior to the workshop.
