Alpha Zeta chapter welcomes new members
The Alpha Zeta Agriculture Honor Fraternity at K-State welcomed seven new members for the upcoming year. Inductees have achieved a high level of scholarship, leadership, integrity and service in the College of Agriculture and rank in the top 10 percent of their class as sophomores, juniors or seniors. The candidates, who represent Kansas, California, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania as well as six majors, were selected after an application and interview process.
This year's inductees include: Jessica Rutherford, animal sciences, Auburn; Nathan Alonso, agriculture business, Kansas City; Carrie Carlson, food science, Lincolnville; Jacob Winkel, wildlife and outdoor enterprise management, Troy; Kaitlyn Alanis, agricultural communications, Los Banos, California; Alana McLain, agricultural economics, Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Rachel Sahrbeck, animal sciences, Springfield, Pennsylvania.
The Fraternity of Alpha Zeta, formed in 1897 at Ohio State University, is a professional organization of men and women whose educational and career objectives fall within the field of agriculture and natural resources. Members of the organization strive to develop and promote leadership based on common values and integrity.
The Kansas State University chapter of the fraternity of Alpha Zeta is dedicated to focusing on education and service, holding events such as a yearly universitywide speaker and philanthropy events to inform others about agriculture.
