The K-State chapter is part of a nonprofit organization based in India with the global motive of propagating the rich cultural heritage of Indian classical music and performing arts by organizing concerts, workshops, programs of arts, yoga, classic cinema etc.

The first concert of the K-State chapter will include a vocal performance of North Indian or Hindusthani classical music by the renowned artiste Pundit Bhuvanesh Komkali. He will be accompanied by Shri Sanjay Deshpande on the tabla, a percussion instrument, and Shri Vyasmurti Katti on the harmonium, a pump organ.

Come experience a wonderful evening of culture, music and traditions, which may be very different from your own or something rarely visited. Be thrilled by the mystical notes of the ragas and get a chance to interact directly with eminent artistes of Indian classical music as they immensely encourage engaging in discussion with the audience.

Grandson of the great maestro of Hindusthani classical music, Pandit Kumar Gandharva, and son of Pandit Mukul Shivputra, Komkali bears the heritage of his forefathers and has been directly trained under his grandmother Vasundhara Komkali and Madhup Mudgal. Bhuvanesh has performed successfully nearly all over India in reputed music festivals and has been highly appraised by the well-versed audience. He is currently engaged in enriching the archives of Gandharva's music using latest digital technology.

Deshpande is a young talented tabla player from Pune, India, and trained under the renowned tabla player Pandit Suresh Talwalkar of Delhi-Farookabad Gharana school of music and world-renowned tabla maestro Ustad. Alla Rakha Khan Saheb, Sanjay has accompanied renowned artistes in major concerts all over India. Shri Vyasmurti Katti, obtained systematic training in harmonium under the able guidance of late Pandit Ramacharya Bagewadi from Solapur. Shri Katti has developed a lucid style of playing harmonium and has won the appreciation of the artistes as well as the connoisseurs of music.
