Study abroad exhibit on display at College of Architecture, Planning & Design

Exhibits by College of Architecture, Planning & Design students participating in spring and summer 2015 study abroad programs are on display through Oct. 23 in Seaton Hall's Chang Gallery.

The exhibition is free and open to the public. The gallery is in the first floor hallway of the east wing at Seaton Hall and is open weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Students in the college's degree-granting programs are given the option to participate in study abroad during and following their fourth year. In spring and summer 2015, 29 students in the college studied abroad.

According to Lynn Ewanow, associate dean and director of international programs for the college, students in architecture, interior architecture & product design, landscape architecture and regional & community planning are particularly well served by studying abroad.

"The College of Architecture, Planning & Design is committed to enhancing the study abroad experience for its students and supporting the emphasis on international education, which is part of K-State's strategic plan," Ewanow said.

Study abroad destinations included Dortmund Tech in Dortmund, Germany; Coburg, Germany; Czech Tech in Prague, Czech Republic; Dessau, Germany; DIS in Copenhagen, Denmark; Centro Studi Citta di Orvieto in Orvieto, Italy; Trier, Germany; University of Pretoria in Pretoria, South Africa; University of Sydney in Sydney, Australia; Central Saint Martin's in London, United Kingdom; and Lorenzo de' Medici School in Florence, Italy.

Students from the architecture department who studied at Czech Tech include Spencer Scherer, Basehor; Benjamin Slater, Overland Park; Holly Wolf, Wichita; Christopher Sanford, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Blake Toews, O'Fallon, Missouri. At the Danish Institute for Study Abroad Denmark: Luhua Liu, Taiyuan. At Dessau: Hanna Sul, Junction City, and Eric Mueth, St. Louis, Missouri. At the University of Sydney: Kendra Vander Baan, Linn Creek, Missouri.

Students from the interior architecture & product design department who studied in Coberg, Germany: Matthew Mastroly, Wichita. At the Danish Institute for Study Abroad Denmark: Jessica Griesemer, Lenexa, and Laura Cale, Shawnee. At Central St. Martin's, London, U.K.: Francisco Pergola, Manhattan; Samuel Jung, Olathe; Garrett Steinlage, Seneca; and Caleb Amundson, Shawnee.
