Submitted by Communications and Marketing

As part of the SPARK Tank event during K-State's SPARK — Student Promoting the Advancement of Research at K-State — Week, two K-State students are receiving $1,000 grants from the Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry to help with their undergraduate research or research-related travel. The winners were selected based on their presentations on their research proposals to the SPARK Tank panel.

Youwei Yang, a senior in agricultural economics, is receiving the Research Grant. Yang's mentor is Ted Schroeder, university distinguished professor of agricultural economics. Receiving the Travel Grant is Stephanie Troyer, junior in music education. Her research mentor is Ruth Gurgel, assistant professor of music.

Travel and Research grants are awarded each semester by the Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry. Online applications for spring 2016 grants are due Nov. 2. Undergraduates in any field are eligible.
