Additional Title IX training classes offered for GRAs, GTAs, GAs

Submitted by Travis Gill

Sexual harassment and assault on campus is a serious issue for all members of the K-State community. This training is designed graduate research assistants, graduate teaching assistants, and graduate assistants and will focus on defining the university's legal obligation to enforce Title IX regulations, review the complaint and investigation process, as well as provide information on prevention methods such as bystander intervention.

For any GRAs, GTAs, and GAs who have not completed the in-person Title IX Training classes that were offered in August or at Graduate Student Orientation, additional classes for the month of September and October have been scheduled.

The Title IX Training, WTD168, sessions will be presented by the Office of Institutional Equity. The training will take place at the K-State Student Union on the following dates:

  • Session 0017 — 11 a.m. to noon Sept. 9 in the Big 12 Room, only 10 available seats remain.
  • Session 0018 — noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Big 12 Room
  • Session 0019 — 5-6 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Flint Hills Room
  • Session 0020 — 4-5 p.m. Oct. 5, in the Big 12 Room
  • Session 0021 — 11 a.m. to noon Oct 6, in the Big 12 Room
  • Session 0022 — 1-2 p.m. Oct. 6, in the Big 12 Room
  • Session 0023 — 11 a.m. to noon Oct. 14 in the Big 12 Room
  • Session 0024 — 1-2 p.m. Oct. 14, in the Big 12 Room

To register for one of these opportunities, participants can either sign up through HRIS self-service or send an email to learning-develop-hr@k-state.edu. When sending an email, participants should include their name, employee ID, and the course title and session number.

Office of Institutional Equity will continue scheduling additional classes to give all graduate student employees the opportunity to register for a class before the semester ends.
