K-State Research and Extension names summer interns

Nine Kansas State University students will serve as summer 2015 interns for K-State Research and Extension in Barton, Ford, Linn, McPherson, Miami, Ottawa, Rawlins, Riley, Saline and Scott counties.

The interns will assist extension professionals in planning and implementing educational programming for Kansas residents.

Students selected as interns and their K-State Research and Extension location:

Shelby Bargmann, senior in agricultural education, Bremen, will intern at the Central Kansas Extension District, which serves Ottawa and Salina counties.

Sonia Gonzalez, master's student in curriculum and instruction, Dodge City, will intern with the Ford County Extension Office.

Sahyra Lujan, junior in elementary education, Great Bend, will intern with the Barton County Extension Office.

Brianna Zweimiller, junior in secondary education and human resource management, Hartford, will intern with the Rawlins County Extension Office.

Anna Dillon, senior in public health nutrition and dietetics, Little River, will intern with the Marais des Cygnes Extension District, which serves Linn and Miami counties.

Colleen O'Connor, junior in secondary education-English, McPherson, will intern with the McPherson County Extension Office.

Molly Wessling, senior in family studies and human services, Overland Park, will intern with Family Studies and Human Services Extension, a part of the School of Family Studies and Human Services on the university's Manhattan campus.

Cambry Schrag, junior in communication studies, Pratt, will intern with the Scott County Extension Office.

Jordyn Barten, sophomore in hospitality management, Woodbine, will intern with the Riley County Extension Office.

K-State Research and Extension, based at Kansas State University in Manhattan, conducts research and offers educational programming focused on improving the quality of life for Kansans and others using science-based information. It has offices in all 105 Kansas counties.
