Journalism school welcomes 15 new student ambassadors

The A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Kansas State University has selected 15 new ambassadors for the 2015-2016 academic year.

The school's ambassadors host campus visits for past and future journalism and mass communications students. They also attend various recruiting events and assist with special journalism activities by the school throughout the year.

"We are very excited to welcome 15 new members to our ambassador team," said Jenny Tatman, journalism and mass communications ambassadors advisor. "These new members will do a great job continuing our tradition of representing the A.Q. Miller School in an enthusiastic, positive and professional manner."

New ambassadors are Elizabeth Allen, junior in advertising; McKenzie Benoit, junior in public relations; Kelsey Floyd, sophomore in advertising; Gary Hadachek, sophomore in public relations; Kaitlyn Heier, junior in journalism and digital media-electronic; Katherine Johnston, sophomore in journalism and digital media- electronic; Alexandra Lessard, sophomore in public relations; Kristen Lyne, sophomore in public relations; Kaitlyn Marolf, sophomore in journalism and digital media-print; Cameron McLaughlin, sophomore in public relations; Landon Ochsner, sophomore in journalism and digital media-print; Lauren Price, senior in public relations; James Schmidt, sophomore in public relations; Sara Soph, sophomore in public relations; and Clarissa Weers, sophomore in journalism and digital media-electronic.

"We are delighted to welcome the new cohort of JMC Ambassadors," said Birgit Wassmuth, director of the A.Q. Miller School. "They represent the best of the best in our JMC program and will shine in this important leadership function."

Six returning ambassadors will also join the 2015-2016 team: Marissa Haake, junior in public relations; Jessica Hermesch, junior in public relations; Daniela Martinez-Serrano, senior in journalism and digital media-electronic; Taylor Russo, junior in advertising; and Anna Shippy, junior in public relations.
