Paid research participation opportunity

Submitted by Ryan Ringer

Want to make some money? Then participate in a K-State psychological sciences department study. You will earn $5 per hour with a bonus of an additional $5 per hour at the end of the study.

Before participating in the study, participants will take a brief cognitive assessment test. During the study, you will view photos of real-world scenes while your eyes are tracked — using an eyetracker. Meanwhile you also will be performing either a visual or auditory task while you look at the pictures.

You will be paid $5 per hour over the course of five one- to one-and-a-half-hour sessions. At the end of the experiment, you will receive a bonus of $5 for every hour that you participated — i.e., if you participate for a total of 6 hours, you will receive $5 immediately after each hour, for a total of $30. At the end of the fifth session, you also will receive an additional bonus of $30 for a total of $60.

Because this study investigates multitasking ability, we want our participants to be well-rested and not under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the experimental sessions. Also, we ask that prospective participants with visual impairments wear contact lenses, not glasses, and please refrain from wearing heavy eye make-up. This study is limited to five more participants, so sign up soon.

If you are interested in participating in this study contact rvringer@gmail.com.
