Nominations open for 2014 Advisor of the Year award

Submitted by Marcus Kidd

The Office of Student Activities and Services is sponsoring an award to recognize advisors for their work with registered student organizations.

To nominate your organization's advisor for the Advisor of the Year Award, please complete the online form. This form will automatically close at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16.  The Advisor of the Year Award committee will review the applications and select one recipient.

The Advisor of the Year Award is designed to honor an individual who has made a commitment to a student organization and its goals by challenging, motivating and supporting students in the group. An advisor takes on this role in addition to his or her job responsibilities to the university. We would like to distinguish these individuals who not only dedicate themselves to an organization and its students, but who go above and beyond their basic responsibilities to the organization. This award will be given to the advisor who has demonstrated these abilities during the 2013-2014 academic year.

The Advisor of the Year Award will be recognized during Blue Key's Leadership Appreciation Reception. The Advisor of the Year will receive a plaque to be displayed in the K-State Student Union and a plaque that they can keep, and be presented with a letter of congratulations from the Reagan Kays, student body president.
