Graduate Student Council professional development event for graduate students

Submitted by Amanda Fairbanks

The Graduate Student Council will host its first professional development event from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in the K-State Student Union's Room 226.

The event, "Creating and Managing Your Public Profile," will feature Roger McHaney, who will discuss important topics regarding your public profile. Discussion topics include "What can Happen: Social Media Horror Stories;" "Should you Delete your Social Media Accounts Before Starting a Job Search;" "What Employers look for in Social Media Background Checks;"  "When it is too late;" and "A Strategy for Developing a Digital Identity that Wins you a Job!"

This event is open to all graduate students. Also, this is students' first chance to start working toward earning their Graduate Student Council professional development certificate by attending this event.

If you have further questions about the event check out the event flyer on the Graduate Student Council Facebook page, or send us an email at egsc@k-state.edu.
