Be safe and aware of potential winter weather Jan. 13-16
Kansas State University students, faculty and staff are encouraged to be aware of weather conditions and use caution while traveling or preparing for the start of the spring 2017 semester because of the potential of severe winter weather Jan. 13-16.
The National Weather Service has issued an ice storm warning and winter storm watch in effect from Friday, Jan. 13, to Monday, Jan. 16, for many areas in Kansas. According to the National Weather Service, there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may make travel dangerous or impossible.
Housing and Dining Services has adjusted the Manhattan Campus residence halls move-in schedule but students may want to wait for anticipated safer travel conditions on Monday. Hale Library will be closed Sunday, Jan. 15. Students are encouraged to continue checking conditions and forecasts to stay informed. If planning to attend a local event, check the event's website before leaving in case there is a schedule change. Please be careful and be prepared for possible electrical and other utilities outages in the affected areas.
