Participate in the Maintain Don't Gain Challenge

Submitted by Jennifer Gehrt

The Maintain Don't Gain Challenge is the latest wellness challenge of the HealthQuest Rewards Program for employees in the state employee health plan. The challenge began Monday and runs to Dec. 12.

Maintaining your body weight during the holiday season can be very difficult for many individuals. This challenge will encourage healthy behaviors that support weight management, while discouraging those that promote weight gain. Healthy eating, regular physical activity and achieving balance are key not only to maintaining a healthy weight, but overall well-being.

From Oct. 1 through July 31, 2012, employees enrolled in the state employee health plan have an opportunity to earn credits by participating in wellness activities offered through their benefits plan. Those who earn at least 20 credits by July 31, 2012, will receive a health insurance premium discount of $480 for plan year 2013.
