K-State hosts mechanical and electrical faculty boot camp

Submitted by Mary Rankin

Kansas State University is hosting a Mechanical and Electrical Faculty Boot Camp, June 4-6, on the Manhattan campus. Local coordinator is Tom Logan, associate professor of architectural engineering and construction science in the College of Engineering.

The Mechanical Contracting Education and Research Foundation, or MCERF, and the National Electrical Contractors Association, or NECA, provide financial support for the program where university construction management faculty, who teach mechanical and electrical construction in their respective programs, are trained in the area of mechanical and electrical construction management.

Faculty members from 17 universities across the country are participating in the three-day event. Topics covered include mechanical properties, mechanical systems, power distribution, and lighting systems.

Instructors, including Logan from Kansas State, are faculty members from Ferris State, Northern Kentucky, Auburn and the University of Nebraska, as well as officials from both sponsoring orgainizations.
