Pogue

David Pogue, New York Times columnist and host of the PBS show “NOVA ScienceNow,” will deliver the keynote speech at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, in Forum Hall for K-State’s first Innovations in Teaching and Learning Conference. He will also host a breakout session on digital photography at 1:30 p.m. in the Alumni Center.

The keynote will be streamed live online at the Innovations and Teaching and Learning website for those who cannot attend in person.

Pogue writes the tech column for the New York Times every week, and in Scientific American every month. He's also the host of other science shows on PBS, and he's been a correspondent for "CBS Sunday Morning" since 2002.

With more than 3 million books in print, Pogue is one of the world's best-selling how-to authors. He wrote or co-wrote seven books in the "For Dummies" series, including on Macs, magic, opera and classical music. In 1999, he launched his own series of complete, funny computer books called the Missing Manual series, which now includes 120 titles.

He has won several awards including an Emmy, a Loeb award for journalism and an honorary doctorate in music.

The Innovations in Teach and Learning Conference is hosted by K-State’s information technology services. This two-day conference began yesterday and continues through today with Pogue’s presentations, a showcase, and two mini-presentations. It aims to inspire and inform your teaching abilities, your classroom and your technical knowledge.
